William Pence

St Paris Dispatch June 12, 1890  William Pence, and industrious and temperate man, who lived southwest of town, committed suicide, Sunday afternoon, by cutting his throat with a rusty pocket knife on Sunday. He had ate a very hearty dinner and drank four or five cups of coffee. He rose first
from the table and started for the outhouse. As he passed through the sitting room he grabbed an
old pocket knife, off the mantle. He got to the outhouse and cut his throat from ear to ear. He was about 53 years old. He was a member of the 45th OVI and a half brother to Elisha and Peter Berry, and formerly lived in Millerstown. His funeral occured Wednesday.
